Can I get Mounjaro on the NHS?
Currently limited - NHS England has approved it for specialist weight management services only. Most people access it privately. This is likely to expand as the NICE guidance is updated.
Do I need a prescription?
Yes. GLP-1 medications require a prescription in the UK. You can get one via your GP or through a regulated online clinic after a medical consultation.
What happens when I stop taking it?
Weight regain is common after stopping - studies show most people regain two-thirds of lost weight within 2 years. These are long-term medications, not short courses.
How much does it cost privately?
Roughly £80-£200 per month depending on the medication and dose. Costs are coming down as generics arrive. Most clinics charge a consultation fee on top.
